A New Arrival

He downed his drink once more, letting out a happy sigh as he started to refill his drink. "I remember now. Eunoian rum, 10 years old, stolen from a nobleman's yacht..."

She raised a brow at that, smirking slightly. "How long ago?"

"Oh god... 3 years ago? I've been saving it for... I dunno, for me to drink the rest of my stock." He laughed, smirking back at her.

"Baronette." she said, laughing allowed. "You stole the blasted bottle off the Baronette."

He chuckled, falling back on the bed. "Please tell me you can name all of my Eunoian victims. That would just make it so much sweeter."

"I could," She said, "At least on that one. It was our neighbor's, essentially. His wife named it, wouldn't listen when told that a woman Baron is a Baroness." Rose chuckled, watching him, having slowed down on her own drinking.

He snorted some,which dissolves into full on laughing. "That's priceless. Idiot didn't know the proper name." He trailed of, still chuckling, cheeks starting to flush from the rum.

Rose watched him, saying nothing, mildly amused at his reactions to both the rum and the yacht. Still, she settled against the wall, bracing herself against it before tossing back the rest of what, her... third? Fourth cup? Oops, bit late, now...

He tilted back his own cup, downing it before offering her the bottle. "You can refill if you'd like." He said, slurring the s's some. "I've got plenty of other bottles in the kitchen, so don't worry about saving me Amy."

Rose rolled her eyes, shaking her head in response before downing a quick swig and setting it on the table beside the bed. "You're gone, Hawke."

"Pleeease! I'm drunk, I'm not gone. Do you see me collapsed unconscious in the bar? No. Because that would be gone for me. This is... I dunno, having a good time." He said with a chuckle, taking a moment to study her.

She watched him with a measured gaze, her strange allure making little sense right now and yet exemplified but his intoxication. Smirking slowly, she tossed her hair back and closed her mind, thinking. "So, who knows that I'm here?" She asked, voice casual though her head was swimming a little bit. Wading through the waters, perhaps.

He shrugged some, stretching and growling some. "Meee, the guards at the gate, and about 3 people who saw.me leading you and your horse here. Why?"

"Curiosity," she said, shrugging as she slouched, the underside of her skirt hiking up in the process though she didn't care. "No one's questioning you leep the company of a stranger...?"

"It's what people do around here. We help each other out. Doesn't matter how long you've been here, or if you're just passing through. With Kira on one side and Euno on the other, we're all we've got." He shrugged, offering her an easy, if somewhat drunk, smile.

That didn't seem to make sense to her, and her face scrunched up a bit for just a moment, and she looked at him quizzically. "You don't even know me."

He offered a shrug. "Sure I do. You're trying to get away from your past, and you came here to try and get a new start. That's good enough for me, and good enough for a lot of the people here. Well, maybe not Captain Anders, but he's an ass."

"Anders?" She asked, watching him for a moment before closing her eyes and sighing, craving water once more.

"He's probably the biggest ass around. His ship, the Siren, it one of the bigger ones, but you know what they say about overcompensation. He doesn't trust anyone not on his crew, and Blake's kept eyes on him ever since she became king. Everyone says he's the most likely to stage a mutiny." Grey shrugged again, sitting up and filling his cup with water from the bucket beside her bed, knocking it back quickly.

Her eyes drifted to the bucket, and she copied his actions a couple of times over, smiling softly. "How long has he been around here?"

Grey yawned again, then shrugged. "I dunno, 15 some years?" He rolled onto his belly, tracing the stitches on the fabric of the blanket. "Plus side it, he won't do anything if he can't get most of the other captains to back him, and he doesn't have a keyblade."

After this they shared in a bottle of rum, after which tensions broke the surface. They spent the night in each others arms, something clawing at the surface of their passion and yet remaining unspoken.

She eased herself out of the room after a while, clothed in loose-fitting garments, an occurrence she was far from accustomed to. Rolling her head about her neck, she began to wander about the house, unsure of what she would be "allowed" to get into and what she should --- but wouldn't --- leave alone.

Grey was resting in the kitchen, reading a yellow colored newspaper with that days date. His feet were kicked up on the faded black kitchen table, a glass pot with coffee beside a pair of empty cups beside it resting some ways away from his feet. He heard Rose moving around upstairs, smiling to himself and then returning to the paper.

Rose did several self-guided tours throughout the second floor before finally making her way downstairs. The tours here were less aware and more misguided, and it took her a full round to make it into the kitchen. Rubbing her eye absently, she offered a half smile to him.
