A New Arrival

"Have you... been back?" She asked, an investigative mask across her face. There was something curious laying just beneath the surface, but she kept it hidden well as she watched him.

"No, I... I came close, once, but... the pain is still to close." He dispelled his keyblade, sighing and rubbing his eyes. He managed a smile for her sake. "But enough about that. No need to bring a shadow over today."

She nodded, biting her tongue and looking around, grateful, if only for societal sake, for her underarmor. "Introductions in order? I don't imagine I'll get very far unemployed, around here..." in truth, she felt the undying need to remain busy, to make use of her hands and not remain idle, a victim to her own mind.

Grey smiled at that. "There's not much in the way of jobs, but if you're looking for work, I can see about getting you a spot on the Captain's ship. That way you'd keep busy, and you'd still have someone around that you knew." He grinned wide, clearly impressed with the idea.

She raised a brow. "you one of her lackeys, Hawke?"

"I prefer the term third mate, but if you'd rather call me a lackey, that's alright." He said jovially, taking no offense to the jab against him.

She smirked just slightly, nodding in response to him and easing out of the bed. "where are my things then, lackey?"

He was by her side in an instant, helping her onto her feet. "Easy now. Everything's in the closet..." He looked to the wall, the large Mydarian war banner ruffling some. "Do you want me to remove that? This could easily be your room if you'd like."

Her brow raised in response, but she made her way to the closet before saying anything, stooping down to dig through the 'stolen' goods. "No...' she began, shaking her head. "It's fine. Do as you wish, but I don't mind it any."

He nodded some in response, standing a few feet behind her. "Alright then." He said, a smile pulling at his lips. "Can I get you anything else? I dunno, toiletries? Bedding? Clothing?"

"Alcohol," she joked, tugging out the most casual gown she could find, though it was still far too extravagant to hide her upbringing.

He chuckled softly, slipping from the room for a few moments before returning with a stout bottle of rum and two clay glasses. "I hope this'll do. We're pirates, and rum seems to come with the territory." He joked, still smiling.

"Yo ho ho?" she asked, shrugging as she pulled on the dress, leaving everything else on under it. "circa...?"

He looked at the faded label on the bottle and shrugged. "Old? I dunno, I can't read anything on this. Too faded."

She let herself laugh, turning to look at him, readjusting the top of the dress a few times before holding her hand out for the cup. "Hownlong til the captain gets back?"

He poured her a glass, offering the cup to her before pouring his own. "Dunno. They set out at high tide last night, so it may be a few days. Hope you don't mind waiting." He raised his cup and smiled. "On a side note, to Rose, the newest arrival to Port Nowhere."

She gave him a wink in response, clinking her glass against his. "You'll be wanting me gone before long, I promise." Still, she took a sip of the drink, unaccustomed to the burn and taste but still downing it without difficulty.

He chuckled, clinking his cup against hers in response and smiling. "I doubt that. I'm pretty flexible, and it takes a lot to get me riled up." He said with a full laugh, refilling their cups easily and sitting on the bed, offering her a spot next to him.

She took another drink as she moved, knocking it back effortlessly before sitting down at his side. "Flexible might get you in greater trouble, actually."

He drained his as well, refilling both cups once more and raising a brow. "Why's that? I mean, flexible's good. Better to bend with the wind then be rigid and risk getting broken." He said plainly, clearly not understanding if it was innuendo or not.

Rose laughed, rather jovial in the gesture as she swirled her drink in its cup. "Clearly, you are more innocent than I anticipated."

He smirked some in understanding. "Ah, so that was innuendo. I wasn't sure... In that case, I would definitely prefer to be flexible. In all areas but one." He said, chuckling and downing his glass again.

Rose laughed even louder this time, smirking over at him when she stopped and drinking more of the rum. "Not accustomed to the bard-types, are you?"

He refilled her glass with a smirk, catching her eyes. "Deceit is a way of life around her, dulce. Innuendo is not." He topped off his own drink before tapping it against hers once more, still smirking.

Rose let her brow dominate her expression as she watched him, sipping her drink slower this time, knowing that, despite her unusual tolerance, she could still only take so much.
