Fangs on the Plains

Lia groaned, laying her head against his chest and shaking it. "You'll confuse her more like that," she said, and she eased off of him, walking over to her and kneeling in front of her couch. "What did the people do before they got married, Freya?"

Freya thought for a few moments before looking down at Lia. "Well, they acted really nice to each other... They spent time together..." She gasped suddenly, eyes lighting up in epiphany. "So you're going to get married!" She nodded in affirmation, clearly pleased with herself.

Her face burned brighter, and she coughed, looking down in utter and complete embaressment. "I, ah... that's not exactly... what I'm getting at..."

Freya tilted her head in uncertainty, looking down at her. "Then what were you getting at, Miss Lia?" The young girl pursed her lips and pouted, clearly upset at apparently being wrong.

Malcolm covered his eyes with an arm, trying to hide his obvious embarrassment at the entire situation.

"Do you... ah," she shook her head, "Do you know what dating is?"

"Dating?" She pouted some, though this was more contemplative than upset. "Not... Really. What does that mean?"

Lia looked to Malcolm as though her held a lifeline, unsure of how to explain something that seemed so emmensely basic.

Malcolm offered her a shrug and then a cocky smile, clearly indicating that this was her bridge to cross, and equally that he had no idea what to say either.
